Happiness is...

Daughter read my modest words,
Words that flow from a heart longing for a daughter’s smile.
A reply to your wailing cry
Happiness is not your tormented envy,
It is not a heart full of grieve,
And is surely not lamenting over your lost lover.
Happiness can never be found in a bereft and lost soul,
Neither can it be found in a bosom depleted of joy.
Happiness can never be gained or bought
For it is free and is achieved by only you.
Happiness is what you crave for every sunrise,
What you hope to find just as the sun sends its last rays,
And what you ponder about before you surrender to sleep.
Happiness is to know that you’re loved
By that person that you admire,
And when you know he is forever gone
You’re left with only those that you matter for.
So, happiness lies beyond the battlefield,
Beyond every fight, death and loss.
It lies deep, deep within you
And waits to be finally set free.
It is to live in splendor, in a world wiped out of sorrow
To know where you are, is the perfect place to be.
Then, stop weeping over what would have to be untrue
For there is a world full of what seems to be true!
